For the month of April, All Island Fence & Railing is dedicating time and resources to raise awareness and money for Autism Awareness Month.
All Island is donating a portion of proceeds from the entire month to Autism Society of America and is also hosting a virtual fundraiser for direct donations. Autism Society is America’s oldest leading grassroots Autism organization.
Autism Society is dedicating April 2021 to their new, “Celebrate Differences” campaign. Designed to build a better awareness of the signs, symptoms, and realities of autism, #CelebrateDifferences focuses on providing information and resources for communities to be more aware of autism, promote acceptance, and be more inclusive in everyday life.
The stigma that surrounds Autism and those living with Autism is harmful. Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month are dedicated to opening the floor for conversation about the spectrum disorder. The more people talk about it, the more normalized it can become in society. 1 in 54 children are diagnosed with autism. Recognizing this continued increase, the goal for Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month is to further increase awareness about autism signs, symptoms and opportunities through: information and referrals, events, printable and digital resources, and community partnerships with businesses and organizations dedicated to building inclusive experiences.
